On March 15, CIBCA held its Charity Gala Dinner to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in the elegant surroundings of Art Restaurant Mánes. More than one hundred guests gathered to enjoy excellent food, freshly-poured creamy beer (kindly provided by Guinness) and to be entertained by the wonderful band Isara, and dance groups Coiscéim and TJ Academy of Irish Dance. The evening was graced by the presence of Minister of State of the Government of Ireland - Mr. Robert Troy and the Ambassador of Ireland to the Czech Republic - His Excellency Mr. Alan Gibbons as well as the Catholic pastor to the English-language community of Prague - Fr. William Faix OSA . The highlight of the evening was the charity fundraising casino and auction in aid of two Czech charities - Acorus which helps victims of domestic violence, and Klokánek (FOD) which provides foster care to children. An impressive 144.400,-Kč was donated, and split equally between these two deserving causes. CIBCA would like to provide hearfelt thanks to the sponsors of the event, without whose support the event would not be possible, and of course to the event attendees, who were so generous. The multitude of sponsors is listed below.
