The 2024 Christmas Dinner was an evening of festive cheer, community, and meaningful contributions. Held at the elegant Café Pointa, the event featured a delightful menu of traditional dishes and desserts, prepared with care to capture the essence of Christmas. Guests, including Ambassador Alan Gibbons, his partner Dr. Ernesto Vasquez del Aquila, and his deputy Eadaoin O’Connor, came together to celebrate the season, reconnect with friends, and support a meaningful cause.
Entertainment was a highlight of the evening. The band Tuppence brought lively energy, getting everyone tapping their feet, while the Coiscéim dancers wowed the audience with their rhythmic routines. Adding a special touch, President James Porter joined Tuppence for a heartfelt rendition of his favorite song, creating a memorable moment of shared joy.
The raffle brought excitement and generosity together, raising an incredible 29,100 CZK for Acorus Charity, supporting victims of domestic abuse and violence. The cause was warmly introduced by Pavla Byrne. Among the standout prizes were a luxurious hamper from the Embassy of Ireland, concert tickets to Conamara Chaos, exclusive Jameson Black Barrel Whiskey, and handmade jewelry from Marta. Fortuna contributed signed jerseys from the Czech Football National Team and Slavia Prague, as well as a t-shirt autographed by MMA champion Jiri Prochazka. ZEO Homes rounded out the prize list with fine Italian wine.
This incredible evening blended festive fun, delicious food, and a strong sense of community. As the event came to a close, guests left inspired by the generosity and connections made, already looking forward to next year’s celebration. The 2024 Christmas Dinner will be remembered as a shining example of the holiday spirit.
